Veterinarians play a critical role in safeguarding animal health, protecting public health, and enhancing the bond between people and animals. The Pre-Professional Pre-Veterinary program at 91ÁÔÆæ prepares students for veterinary school through personalized advising, rigorous coursework, and experiential learning opportunities. With a strong foundation in the sciences and guidance on meeting prerequisite requirements, students are well equipped to pursue admission to veterinary schools and to build a career dedicated to the health and well-being of animals and the communities they serve.
Optometrists play an essential role in promoting health and quality of life by preserving vision, detecting eye disease, and supporting overall wellness. The Pre-Professional Pre-Optometry program at 91ÁÔÆæ prepares students for admission to schools and colleges of optometry through individualized advising, a strong foundation in the sciences, and opportunities for experiential learning. With guidance on prerequisite coursework and professional preparation, students gain the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career dedicated to protecting sight and enhancing the well-being of their patients.
91ÁÔÆæ's Bachelor of Social Work program offers a rigorous, caring and inclusive learning community, preparing you for employment or for graduate studies. BSW graduates who meet the criteria are eligible for Advanced Standing, meaning they can complete an accelerated curriculum to earn a master’s degree in social work from CSWE-accredited MSW programs.
Class Delivery Note: All BSW classes are fully online. Undergraduate residential students in the BSW Program take their general education courses in person. Commuter students should talk to their admissions counselor to identify the best delivery options for their circumstances.
Theological study long has attempted to address the most profound questions of existence and the meaning of the human religious experience. Theology courses ask these questions with attention to the universally human and particular focus on the Judeo-Christian tradition. A major in theology prepares students for further work in academe or seminary and can serve to complement another major. A minor in the discipline provides students with greater knowledge of religious questions.
In the 91ÁÔÆæ tradition, theatre students learn the importance of diversity of thought, faiths and cultures. Students are challenged to shape and transform the world as ethical leaders, concerned citizens and caring members of the greater community.
91ÁÔÆæ's Master of Education programs hold the highest standards of academic excellence as they prepare caring, highly qualified candidates who are uniquely positioned to address various needs of the diverse populations in today's schools. The programs feature multiple degree tracks, each approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Applied Health program leading to an Associate of Science degree is a dual enrolled degree program between The Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and 91ÁÔÆæ. In addition to the Associate of Science degree graduates will receive a Diploma in Nursing from RH-SHS. The RH-SHS Diploma in Nursing Program is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
The Applied Science program leading to an Associate of Science degree is a dual-enrolled program between the Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing and 91ÁÔÆæ. In addition to the Associate of Science degree, graduates will receive a Diploma in Nursing from JFMSON. The JFMSON is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program leading to an Associate in Science degree is a dual enrolled degree program between Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences (RHSHS) and 91ÁÔÆæ. In addition to the Associate in Science degree, graduates will receive a Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from RHSHS. Graduates of the DMS Program are eligible to take the national credentialing exams through the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) upon completion.
91ÁÔÆæ's post-baccalaureate certification programs for educators are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Certification coursework may be applied to earning a Master of Education or Ph.D. in Leadership degree. Individual courses may be taken as Act 48 credits.
